Lawsuits, TenureDefendant, chancellor of the City University of New York (CUNY), challenged the injunctive relief granted by the Supreme Court, New York County (New York), to plaintiff professors whom he had refused to recommend for reappointment with tenure. A cross appeal was taken by plaintiff university faculty members who were found by the supreme court to lack standing in the law suit to contest the chancellor’s treatment of their colleagues.
